Terry McLaurin seems to have a significant knee injury during the Washington Commanders’ matchup against the San Francisco 49ers on Monday night.

McLaurin stands out as a veteran star receiver in the Commanders’ offense. He played a key role in the team’s playoff run to the NFC Championship game in 2024, hoping to get them back on track after a down year last season.

However, the season has been rough for Washington as they have sustained another injury. McLaurin suffered the injury during the first half, attempting to run his route before he went down to the ground holding his left knee. Quarterback Jayden Daniels went over to McLaurin, checking on him as the team surrounded him.

Washington officials carted him off the field and made the decision to rule him out for the rest of the game, per NFL insider Ian Rapoport.

“#Commanders WR Terry McLaurin has already been ruled out with a knee injury,” Rapoport wrote.

How Terry McLaurin, Commanders played 1st half against 49ers

Terry McLaurin only recorded a 27-yard catch before going down with the knee injury. The Commanders will hope for the best, but prepare for the worst when they do further testing on the injury.

Washington heavily struggled throughout the first half against the 49ers. They only managed a field goal during the first quarter, conceding three touchdowns to San Francisco’s explosive offense.

Jayden Daniels completed most of his passes, but he hasn’t been able to create dents in the 49ers defense. He threw for 88 yards while rushing three times for six yards. Chig Okonkwo leads receivers with two catches for 35 yards, while Stefon Diggs has two receptions for 17 yards.

Following this matchup, the Commanders will prepare for their next contest. They are on a bye next week before resuming action at home when they host the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 8 as kickoff commences on Nov. 1 at 8:20 p.m. ET.
