“My honest first reaction is they’ve said this from 97 on. I’m like, ‘When did (QB) Tom (Brady) lose another game?’” Mahomes said to laughter from the press pool. “Because I feel every game I win, I tie him.”

Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes Ties Tom Brady’s All-Time Record in Chargers Win | Heavy Sports
Mahomes earned the 100th victory of his career on Sunday, October 18 against the visiting Los Angeles Chargers, joining Brady as the youngest QBs to hit that major milestone.
“I mean, it’s awesome. Because, I mean, he’s the GOAT, man,” Mahomes said in an on-field, postgame interview with CBS Sports reporter Melanie Collins. “He’s the one that has kinda shown us how to do it in winning the Super Bowls and winning every single week. So it’s always an honor if you’re mentioned in his name. But it seems like every time I win a game, I’m tying him, so I’m gonna keep winning.”
The Chiefs are 5-0 — and their offense may be returning to their dynastic heights | NBC News
The last time Kansas City started 5-0 was in the 2024 season, when it finished the regular season 11-0 in one-score games and white-knuckled two playoff wins before getting blown out by the Philadelphia Eagles in the Super Bowl.
But this is an entirely different 5-0, as the Chiefs are now powered by a highly efficient offense and a capable defense. While Kansas City has been a perennial title contender under Mahomes, this year’s team is much more formidable than it was the last few seasons.
Defensive end Ashton Gillotte was flagged for roughing the passer when he ran into Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert. That flag wiped out an interception by the Chiefs’ Chris Rolland-Wallace.
“To me,” Steratore said, “I just didn’t like the foul for roughing the passer.”
Steratore noted Gillotte tried to avoid contact and didn’t throw his body at Herbert.
Fortunately for the Chiefs, they ended up getting an interception later in the drive when linebacker Jack Cochrane picked off Herbert.
“The Chiefs did literally everything you’re supposed to do to lose a dumb game. They missed an extra point, had a special teams turnover, threw a pick in the end zone & got stuffed at the 1. But, luckily, they were playing the Chargers so none of that matters,” the First Things First star wrote on X.
Chiefs defensive back ejected for punching Chargers player | KSHB 41
Initially, both Roland-Wallace and Harkey were called for offsetting personal foul penalties on the first play of the final period.
But after an expedited league review, referee Alan Eck announced that Roland-Wallace was ejected for “landing a punch,” leading to jeers inside Arrowhead Stadium.
Roland-Wallace, a versatile third-year defensive back from USC, had four tackles, including one for a loss, before the ejection.

C.J. Gardner-Johnson apologizes after getting ejected for spitting at Brock Bowers | The Athletic
“My passion and competitive nature have always been a huge part of who I am, but I also understand that there is a line that should never be crossed,” Gardner-Johnson posted on his Instagram story. “The gesture I made toward my opponent was inappropriate, unnecessary, and not a reflection of the respect I have for him or this game.
“There is no excuse for my actions, and I take full accountability. No matter how emotional or intense the competition gets, I have to hold myself to a higher standard.”
Harbaugh mum on McDaniel, says Chargers need ‘to address everything’ | ESPN
“I don’t know,” Herbert said on what hasn’t clicked for him in this offense so far. “If I had the answers, then we’d definitely be having a different conversation.”
Harbaugh tried his best to explain what he saw from his quarterback Sunday, saying Herbert “didn’t have a lot of chances” and did everything he could possibly do. However, the coach again mentioned that what the Chargers are doing in preparation is not showing up during games.
“Just one of the things that’s not translating from meetings, practice to the game,” Harbaugh said. “Our run game, our passing game, our short-yardage game. Being able to move the ball and score points, whether that’s in the red zone or if we have the ball at the 1 or the 40 or the 50. What’s not translating? How do we get it to translate?”
Hunter is now the first player with a receiving touchdown and an interception in the same game since Pro Football Hall of Famer Brian Dawkins did so back in 2022, also against the Texans. Hunter’s performance on Sunday is now just the fourth time a player has produced a receiving touchdown and an interception in the same game (including the playoffs) since the 1970 AFL/NFL merger.

Xavier Worthy rises to the occasion for Chiefs’ offense
They told me all week: it’s going to be for me,” Worthy said. “I have to step up for the receiving room; guys are down, and I did my one of 11.”
“It’s obviously great to be targeted early and often… getting your feel for the game.”
It was a slower pace to the finish line in Kansas City’s 22-6 win over Los Angeles on offense, but Worthy still finished as the team’s leader in receptions (7), receiving yards (73) and yards after catch (43). He caught all seven passes thrown his way and moved the chains four times.
