Packers Wire staff predictions: Week 6 vs. Cowboys
· Yahoo Sports
The Green Bay Packers, now winners of two straight games, will welcome the Dallas Cowboys to Lambeau Field for a "Sunday Night Football" showdown in Week 6. Are Jordan Love and Dak Prescott headed for another shootout after last season's 40-40 tie at AT&T Stadium? Both iconic franchises are looking for a big win after up and down starts to the 2026 season.
Here’s how the staff at Packers Wire believes the Week 6 showdown with the Cowboys will go down:

Zach Kruse: Packers 31, Cowboys 29 (3-2)
A shootout appears unavoidable, but which defense is more likely to produce the one big stop or takeaway? The Cowboys have given up 10 touchdown passes and don't have an interception this season, while the Packers are first in interceptions and fourth in total takeaways, and Jonathan Gannon's group is finding ways of generating pressure on the quarterback without Micah Parsons. Dak Prescott, Javonte Williams, CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens are going to create big plays for the visitors, but will they outscore an ascending Packers offense that is facing what might be a bottom-5 defense in 2026? There should be some fear of a letdown after an emotional win over the rival Bears last week, so check the energy and execution levels early. But the Packers have mostly stabilized since changing up the offensive line. The Cowboys are unpredictable and there appears to be no easy fix to the defense. Expect points and an entertaining, back-and-forth battle, but the guess here is the Packers swing the game at some point with a takeaway and get the late score to win.
Brandon Carwile: Packers 35, Cowboys 24 (3-2)
This matchup feels like a tale of two teams. The Packers have won two straight. The defense has forced seven turnovers in the past two games, and the offense is trending in the right direction now that the offensive line can finally hold its own. Meanwhile, the Cowboys held a player’s only meeting after an embarrassing loss to the previously winless Buccaneers to fall to 2-3. Dallas’ defense is atrocious, and Jordan Love is coming off the best game of his career. Green Bay isn’t facing a backup quarterback and will have to deal with the Cowboys' two dangerous wideouts, but I still like Love and company against this defense.
Mark Oldacres: Cowboys 30, Packers 27 (3-2)
This is probably the biggest test Jonathan Gannon’s defense has faced so far, and given how they were stung by star players like Justin Jefferson, Drake London and Bijan Robinson earlier this season, I’m expecting Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens to put up points on Sunday night. As long as the offensive line holds firm, Jordan Love and the Packers offense can certainly keep up in a shootout, but I can see Green Bay squandering some vital points due to missed kicks or other failures in execution, which ultimately could be their undoing in a back-and-forth, high-scoring battle.
Brennen Rupp: Packers 27, Cowboys 20 (3-2)
The Packers offense got rolling last week against the Chicago Bears and they should continue to stay hot against a Dallas defense that couldn't stop a three-year-old's runny nose. Green Bay’s defense will arguably face their toughest challenge of the season. Dak Prescott has one of the best wide receiver duos to chuck it to and Javonte Williams is no slouch at running back. This game could come down to which quarterback plays the cleanest game. Give me Jordan Love and the Packers in a Sunday night thriller to improve to 4-2.
