With a victory, Nashville SC will clinch the MLS Supporters' Shield with four games to play, bringing home just its second ever trophy following 2025's U.S. Open Cup title. Depending on results from Vancouver and Miami's games earlier the same day, NSC could still clinch the Shield with a draw, or even a loss.

If Vancouver and Miami both drop points, Nashville will secure the Supporters' Shield as it kicks off from San Jose.

NSC won a fourth consecutive game midweek, rolling past Sporting Kansas City 4-0. In San Jose's last outing it took a 95th minute equalizer from Jack Jasinski to salvage a 1-1 draw with Real Salt Lake.
