‘My man…’ – Micah Parsons claims Jayden Daniels may have gotten Dan Quinn fired
· Yahoo Sports
After the Commanders’ overtime mistakes against the Giants, Micah Parsons says Jayden Daniels has probably cost Dan Quinn his job.
The Washington Commanders let horrible clock-management cost them an opportunity to get a much-needed victory against the New York Giants. With 12 seconds left, no timeouts and the ball at the Giants’ 24-yard line, Jayden Daniels held onto the ball instead of throwing it away or spiking it, then took a sack that allowed the clock to expire in a 27-27 tie.

Daniels took responsibility for the mistake, but head coach Dan Quinn admitted the failure started with him. There was simply no need for the Commanders to try and gain more yardage at that point. A situation like this is a very bad look for the team, and Micah Parsons even thinks it could result in the head coach losing his job.
Micah Parsons took issue with Jayden Daniels, says he should have known better than to let that happen
Washington fell to a 1-3-1 record after the game. There are big expectations from the team, and embarrassing failures like this will be tough for ownership to accept. What should have been a statement win after Daniels’ return from injury has instead turned into one of the most embarrassing losses.
Parsons worked with Quinn from 2021 to 2023, when the latter was defensive coordinator for the Dallas Cowboys. The star defensive end didn’t mince words when addressing what he feels was Daniels’ mistake.
“Jayden Daniels probably cost my man Dan Quinn his job, to be honest with you,” Parsons said. “To be honest with you. And, like, I’m a big Jayden Daniels fan. But the reality is, he probably cost a lot of people their jobs this past weekend.
“Respectfully, we get coached so much on these situations that, like, I’m a defensive player, and this s*** is programmed to me. I know what to do in those situations. There’s no way I’m taking a sack with 14 seconds left and no timeouts…
“Mind you, it’d be different if Jayden Daniels was a rookie. This is your third year. This your third year. You’ve been to the NFC Championship game. You’ve been in big moments before. And to me, even after a sack, you’re casually getting up.”
Despite the humiliating tie, there have been no reports about the Commanders looking to fire Quinn anytime soon. Certainly, his job is under some scrutiny, but there don’t seem to be any immediate plans for him to lose it. This seems to be a case of Parsons sticking up for his old coach.
