Jason Kelce continues to share about his weight loss journey.

Over the weekend, the Super Bowl champion stepped into the NFL Network broadcast booth for his former team, the Philadelphia Eagles, and the Jacksonville Jaguars game on Sunday, Oct. 11. Kelce, alongside play-by-play announcer Dave Pasch and analyst Kurt Warner, praised how well the Jaguars’ emergency long snapper, DaVon Hamilton, performed during the game. Hamilton was filling in for the team’s starting long snapper, Ross Matiscik, who suffered a shoulder injury in the first quarter.

“I love it from the big fella,” Kelce said. “When I got fat, when I put on weight — I used to long snap in high school — when I got to 300 pounds-ish, it became really hard to look in between your legs. … That’s an awesome job to come in there in an emergency and help your team out. Way to go, DaVon Hamilton. I love it.”

“You’ve never been fat,” Warner insisted. “You’re just husky.”

After Warner’s comment, Kelce informed him that although he lost weight since retirement — he’s previously shared that he has lost about 25 pounds — that he is obese.

“If you look at the BMI, I think I’m technically obese. Morbidly,” Kelce said.

Kelce stands at 6-foot-3 and at 270 pounds after losing the weight, and according to NIH’s body mass index calculator that would put his BMI at 33.7 which would make his calculation correct based on his height and weight.

Kelce retired from the NFL in 2024 after 13 seasons in the league. He has been open about his weight loss on his New Heights podcast with his brother, Travis Kelce, who also serves as a host.

“Nobody liked me until I became fat. And as I get skinnier, people hate me more and more,” Jason argued back in May 2025.

Kelce explained that the weight loss has given him more mobility than before.

“It’s hard to imagine another nearly 20 pounds coming off, being honest with you,” Kelce told GQ in June 2024. “But my back already feels better. My knees already feel better. So another 20 pounds hopefully will make that much more adept at playing with my children.”

Jason has four daughters: Wyatt, 7, Elliotte, 5, Bennett, 3, and Finn, 18 months, whom he shares with his wife, Kylie Kelce.

The former Eagles center opened up to Us Weekly in 2025 about what weight would work for him as he focuses on his post-NFL physique.

“I don’t really want to get below 250,” he said. “So, I think somewhere between 250 and 265. We’ll see where it goes.”

Jason joined ESPN’s Monday Night Countdown in August 2024. His ESPN show, They Call It Late Night with Jason Kelce, premiered in January 2025.
