Stock up, stock down following the Jets' 17-12 win over Browns
· Yahoo Sports
The New York Jets (2-3) did not have the result they wanted last week against the Chicago Bears, especially when the Jets are trying to give themselves and their fans something to cheer about this season. New York had an opponent in the Cleveland Browns (3-2) that was rolling heading into this game, but head coach Aaron Glenn and company were willing to bear the rain for a victory.
The Jets beat the Browns on Sunday 17-12 in a game where neither offense had the best conditions to thrive given the rain and wind, but New York made the necessary plays to win in the end. The passing offense was essentially quarterback Geno Smith throwing to wide receiver Garrett Wilson (104 yards, one touchdown) while running back Braelon Allen (24 carries, 116 yards, one touchdown) filled in well for injured starter Breece Hall.

While it wasn't a pretty day for either offense, the Jets' defense was all over quarterback Deshaun Watson and the Browns offense, especially in the end when New York needed to hold on to their five-point fourth-quarter lead.
The Jets avoided an 1-4 start to the season and after Sunday's win over the Browns, here is Jets Wire's stock report following Week 5:
Stock Up: WR Garrett Wilson
With wide receiver Adonai Mitchell and running back Kenyon Sadiq out for this game due to their respective injuries, the Jets had to rely on Wilson to carry the offense while dealing with rainy conditions for the entire game. With that as the backdrop, Wilson did everything to keep the offense running and even with the Brown double-covering him, he was able to get open and make touch catches time and again.
Stock Down: TE Kenyon Sadiq
It wasn't too long ago when Sadiq had his best game of the season against the Detroit Lions, but the past couple of weeks have been rough for the rookie tight end out of Oregon. Even with Cleveland trying to prevent Wilson from getting the ball, Sadiq wasn't able to find his way in the offense and he also lost a fumble to boot when he was trying to gain extra yards after the catch. Sadiq did leave this game with a concussion.
Stock Up: LB David Bailey
It may seem like a hyperbole to say that Bailey had one of the best games that a Jets defensive rookie has had in the history of the franchise, but that is what happened in this one. Bailey was getting to Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson all game long and he became the second rookie in Jets history to have three sacks in a game, showing just how disruptive he was.
Stock Down: CB Azareye'h Thomas
Thomas has been one of the players that the Jets have been relying on to make an impact in the defensive secondary, especially after New York selected him with a third-round pick just last year. Thomas had a tough time keeping up with Browns receivers in Isaiah Bond and Denzel Boston, but the hope is that he will be more consistent as the season progresses.
Stock Up: RB Braelon Allen
With the aforementioned Hall out for this game, Allen was the guy in the Jets backfield that would be relied upon to make some plays out of the backfield and he didn't disappoint. Allen was the primary ball-carrier for New York against this Cleveland defense and while he is known more for his power than his speed and quickness, Allen was able to get wherever he wanted to with the ball in his hands.
Stock Down: TE Mason Taylor
This is a similar entry to Sadiq as Taylor is another player that the Jets have been hoping can find his way onto the field as a productive contributor, but that hasn't happened as of yet. Taylor did have one of his better games of the season, but that isn't saying much given what he's done to this point and New York needs him to be more productive moving forward.
