During a recent appearance on his "Animals" co-star Kerry Washington's podcast, "Street You Grew Up On," the 54-year-old actor said that Samuel, 14, inherited his affinity for luxury items.
Affleck, who shares three children including Samuel, Violet, 20, and Fin, 17, with his ex-wife Jennifer Garner, told Washington that he recently shut down his son's request to buy him a Lamborghini.

"I see my son now, you know, and he's a lot like me," Affleck said. "And it makes me realize — because my older two ones — they kind of spoiled me because they're like, 'No, we don't want this. We don't want that.' They're like, aversive."
"My son's like, ‘Dad, you should get a Lambo,’" the Oscar winner recalled with a laugh. "'What? A Lambo? Are you f---ing crazy? Am I an a--hole in a yellow Lamborghini driving around like at the club?' He's like, 'Yeah.'"

"No. No!" Affleck exclaimed as Washington laughed.
Samuel was previously involved in a mishap with a yellow Lamborghini while visiting 777 Exotics, a luxury car rental dealership in the Los Angeles area, with his father and Affleck's then-fiancée, Jennifer Lopez, in June 2022.
At the time, Affleck allowed Samuel, then 10, to sit in the driver's seat of a bright yellow Lamborghini SUV before the boy accidentally put the car into reverse and backed into a white BMW.
Samuel was photographed jumping out of the Lamborghini to inspect the vehicles, while Affleck also checked for damage. The "Gone Girl" star was later photographed hugging Samuel while talking with Lopez, whom he married in July 2022. The former couple finalized their divorce in January 2025.
The vehicle involved in Samuel's incident was a Lamborghini Urus, which rented for $1,475 per day and was valued at $250,000 at the time, according to the New York Post.
At the time, representatives for Affleck and 777 Exotics both told the New York Post there was no damage to either vehicle. An employee at the rental dealership also said there were no hard feelings following the fender-bender.

The Lamborghini isn't the first high-priced item to catch Samuel's eye.
In March 2025, an exchange between Affleck and Samuel made headlines after Samuel was filmed admiring a $6,000 pair of Dior x Nike Air Jordan 1 sneakers in a video shared on Instagram.

In the clip, Affleck and Samuel browsed sneakers at a convention, where Samuel spotted the Dior shoes. After seeing the $6,000 price tag, Affleck told his son, "That's a lot of lawns you gotta mow there."
During an interview with Access Hollywood later that month, Affleck joked about the viral video.

"That's what happens when you tell a motherf---er they have to mow a lawn," he told the outlet. "All of a sudden they don't want those shoes, and he was like, ‘But I always said they were tough.’"
"It's always some grift why I need to be … I'm like, 'Man, you do not need thousand-dollar shoes!' He's like, 'We have the money.' I'm like, 'I have the money, you're broke!'" Affleck quipped.
Affleck co-parents his three children with Garner, whom he was married to from 2005 to 2018. During an April 2025 appearance on "Today with Jenna & Friends," Affleck explained how he was teaching his children that they shouldn't expect handouts from their famous parents.
Affleck explained that he wants his children to understand the value of hard work.
"You love your kids. You want to give them everything and do everything for them, but I think you definitely do them a disservice by not connecting [if] you want something that you want, you have to work for that," he said.
During a recent appearance on "Late Night with Seth Meyers," Affleck said that his children don't care about his Hollywood success.
"I remember when my daughter was born, right around the time I directed my first movie and I had a bunch of movies that didn't work and was very uncool and felt kind of despised and thought like, 'God, I really want to make my kids proud with my career,'" he recalled.
"And as I've gotten older, my kids have gotten older, what I realized is, they don't give a s---," he continued as the audience laughed.
"They really don't care," he added. "The most cool thing I've ever done, in my kids' eyes, is, like, become a meme."
In December 2020, Affleck was photographed struggling to carry several Dunkin' iced coffees and a box of Munchkins outside his Los Angeles home. The photos went viral and inspired memes, with social media users joking that Affleck's exasperated expression summed up the frustrations of 2020.

During the interview with Meyers, Affleck recalled asking his children why they were impressed by his Dunkin' meme.
"I'm like, 'Why is that cool? Like, because I'm spilling a coffee?'" he recalled. "They're like, 'You're relevant.'"
