· Yahoo Sports
Christian Leroy Duncan got his first taste of the UFC main event scene on Saturday, and it didn't go his way.

Duncan (15-3 MMA, 8-3 UFC) was on the wrong side of a fifth-round submission loss at UFC Fight Night 290 against Brendan Allen (28-7 MMA, 16-4 UFC) at the Meta APEX in Las Vegas, snapping a five-fight winning streak for the Brit.
Although he showed moments of resistance, a point deduction and several other key errors put Duncan behind and in a mode of desperation, which allowed Allen to take advantage and finish the fight by submission. It was a tough lesson, but one Duncan is taking in stride as he looks forward in his fighting journey.
"Thankful for the experiences that carry us forward," Duncan wrote on Instagram. "Nothing changes. The fire is too bright to dampen. The pursuit continues, back to work."
