High school football roundup: Twin Valley moves to 7-0 by beating Solanco

Twin Valley scored two touchdowns in the fourth quarter to pull away from Solanco and go on to a 34-17 Lancaster-Lebanon Section 3 football victory on Friday night.

The Raiders (4-0 Section 3, 7-0 overall) are the only team without a Section 4 loss, as Solanco (6-1) and Cocalico (4-3) are both 2-1 in league play.
Leading 21-17 at the start of the final quarter, Twin Valley upped the lead to 27-17 when Lucas Myers scored on a 12-yard run, with the two-point conversion failing.
Maverik Foster’s 38-yard run and Adam Phillips’ extra point made it 34-17.
Solanco took a 7-0 lead in the first quarter on Wesley Bard’s 4-yard TD run and Tristan Brown’s extra point kick.
The Raiders tied it when Myers scored on a 4-yard run and Phillips kicked the extra point.
Alain Bazile’s 85-yard fumble recovery for a touchdown in the second quarter gave Twin Valley the lead for good at 14-7.
Brown kicked a field goal to make it 14-10, but the Raiders responded with another touchdown by Myers, this one from 1-yard out to make it 21-10 after Phillips’ kick.
In the third quarter, Solanco pulled to within four at 21-17 when Chase Sensenig scored on a 1-yard run.
Solanco had a statiscal edge in the game, outgaining the Raiders 362-281 in total yards and 257-220 in rushing yards. Solanco had 18 first downs to 12 for Twin Valley.
Wilson 41, Hempfield 7: Michael Glover scored two touchdowns and quarterback Cole Peterson passed for two as the Bulldogs improved to 6-1 overall, 4-0 Section 1. Glover scored on a 4-yard run and a 14-yard pass from Peterson, whose other TD pass was a 29-yarder to Monty Greer. Lavar Alston returned an interception 80 yards for a Wilson touchdown. Peterson finished the game 13 of 18 for 197 yards.
Exeter 69, Lebanon 18: The Eagles scored 49 points in the first quarter and led 69-6 at halftime. Exeter improved to 6-1 overall, 4-0 Section 2. Brady Adams scored on a 20-yard interception return and a 55-yard pass from Xavier Mercado as nine different Eagles scored touchdowns.
South Western 44, Reading High 20: The non-league loss dropped the Red Knights to 1-6 overall.
Conestoga Valley 29, Muhlenberg 13: Camryn Bair scored two touchdowns as Conestoga Valley downed the Muhls. For Muhlenberg (2-5, 1-2 Section 2), Ian Rodriguez scored on runs of 1 and 2 yards.
Elizabethtown 42, Gov. Mifflin 17: The Mustangs scored the game’s first touchdown and last touchdown, but in between gave up 42 points to Elizabethtown. Gov. Mifflin falls to 1-6, 1-3 Section 2. Patrick Steuer rushed for 98 yards on 26 carries and scored a 1-yard TD for the Mustangs.
