Ole Miss vs Vanderbilt Prediction: The Rebels' Road Back
· Yahoo Sports
Everything was going great for Ole Miss. It had wins over LSU and Louisville, the world all but handed Trinidad Chambliss the Heisman, and then Florida had other ideas in a 52-28 Gator win.
There’s still plenty of time to get back into the SEC title mix and a shot at another trip to the College Football Playoff, but the Rebels have to beat Vanderbilt first.
The Commodores lost a tough defensive battle at Auburn and dropped a respectable 38-14 game at Georgia, but with a slew of road games coming up, along with home dates against Alabama and Tennessee, they need a win right now.

Why Ole Miss Will Win
Vanderbilt isn’t moving the chains.

Ole Miss has the passing game to open this up and make the Commodore offense push a bit. Vandy won’t have the ability to keep up the pace and/or slow things down, but …
Why Vanderbilt Will Win
Vanderbilt, get throwing.
Star freshman quarterback Jared Curtis is expected to be back after missing the Georgia game hurt, but if he’s not quite right, Blaze Berlowitz is a veteran who can at least try to light up a struggling Rebel defense.
The Ole Miss pass defense couldn’t handle the Louisville passing game, wasn’t even close against the Florida ground attack, and now gets a Vandy offense that will throw everything at the wall to get the O going.
Ole Miss vs Vanderbilt Prediction, Betting Lines
Vanderbilt wasn’t great in a 28-9 win over Austin Peay, struggled in a 35-26 win over Delaware, and needed an all-time miracle against NC State to get to 3-0 before the last two losses. It’s a sound team, but it’s missing the pop to keep up when Chambliss and the Rebel offense get going early on.
