Ward has been playing in the league since 2018, going through his ninth season with the Browns. He shines as one of the best defenders around, helping Cleveland have its best start in the past several seasons after four games.
Ward spoke with reporters on Thursday, going over Cleveland’s upcoming matchup against the New York Jets. The Browns are somehow underdogs against New York despite having the better record, looking to prove the doubters wrong once again.

“That’s the NFL. It’s really any team can win on any given Sunday, regardless of who has who winning or losing. Anybody can win any given day. So we just got to come ready to play and show up,” Ward said, per reporter Camryn Justice.
“It’s been a lot of disrespect towards the Browns for a long time. So like I said, we kind of keep everything internal. We got our own motivation and we’re looking to go in and be 1-0 this week and that’s our main goal.”

What lies ahead for Denzel Ward, Browns
Denzel Ward and the Browns have exceeded expectations so far despite losing in a blowout in Week 1. They are rolling with three straight victories, making early noise in the AFC picture.
Cleveland boasts a 3-1 record this season, controlling the top spot in the AFC North Division standings. They lead over the Baltimore Ravens and the Pittsburgh Steelers at the moment. In terms of the conference standings, they sit at fourth place. They are above the Ravens and the Las Vegas Raiders while trailing the Buffalo Bills and the Jacksonville Jaguars.
The Browns will look forward to their next matchup, being on the road this weekend. They take on the New York Jets in Week 5 as kickoff commences on Oct. 11 at 1 p.m. ET.
