Kansas City may have walked away with the victory, but CBS Sports and the NFL will feel like they’re the real winners after seeing the viewership numbers.

Kansas City Chiefs vs. Las Vegas Raiders draws 28.4 million viewers

CBS Sports announced that the Kansas City Chiefs’ win over the Las Vegas Raiders drew an audience of 28.448 million viewers, making it the most-watched game of the 2026 season.

Not only that, but it also became the most-watched Week 4 game in NFL history, although there was no mention of the previous fixture that held this record.

Given that the Kansas City Chiefs have been one of the most reliable draws the NFL has had over the last decade, this number isn’t actually all that surprising.

There has been a great deal of interest in the Chiefs this season, given the return of Patrick Mahomes after a lengthy absence and the signing of Super Bowl MVP Kenneth Walker III.

Of course, it should also be mentioned that Travis Kelce’s recent marriage to Taylor Swift has helped attract a massive new audience to the NFL, with many of Swift’s fans tuning in to see her husband and his team play on a near-weekly basis.

The ‘Swifties,’ as they call themselves, often also tune into Chiefs games to get a glimpse of the pop star, who often attends to support Kelce.

While Swift wasn’t at Allegiant Stadium, the Chiefs delivered a strong performance that could make up for her absence against the Raiders.

The Chiefs extended their record to 4-0, marking the first time they’ve gone undefeated in their first four games since 2024.

That season, the Chiefs were chasing an elusive threepeat, having won the Super Bowls in the 2022 and 2023 seasons.

But a loss to the Eagles in the Super Bowl following a stellar 2024 season seemed to derail their momentum, and the Chiefs missed the playoffs in 2025.

This season, the Chiefs will be hoping to avenge their performance from last year and return to the Super Bowl once again.
