Jaguars defender reveals secret behind Jacksonville's turnover success

Just as they did a season ago, the Jacksonville Jaguars' defense is producing takeaways at a very high level.

Through four games, the Jaguars have generated eight takeaways, which is tied for the second-most in the NFL. The defense's six interceptions are tied for the most.

So what's the secret behind the Jaguars' turnover success?

"It's just our style of play and the way that Coach Camp have us playing," said safety Antonio Johnson. "We play very physical and the way that our coverage and rush match up together, it forces quarterbacks to make decisions that they don't want to make. That's by speeding them up or getting pressure, however we do it. And I think we have a lot of great ball players on the back end that attack the ball at a very high level."

Three of the Jaguars' six interceptions have come in the red zone -- the most by any team this season. Jacksonville also leads the NFL with the longest active streak of interceptions per game, securing at least one in nine consecutive contests.

For every defense, generating takeaways is the name of the game, and the Jaguars do it at a very high level, which takes points off the board for the opponent and gives Jacksonville's own offense additional possessions.

If you can win the turnover battle, the odds are in your favor that you'll win the game. These takeaways have been a big part of the Jaguars' success over the last year-plus.
