For the first time in five years, we are publishing a postseason advisory released by the White Sox. (Yes, it has been five years.) This is your postseason game day guide, not only for the ALDS but the balance of the postseason.

The White Sox have provided information specific to the postseason opener on October 7, ballpark arrival, parking, public transportation and rideshare resources.

CHICAGO WHITE SOX 2026 SEASON ADVISORY FOR POSTSEASON GAMES AT RATE FIELD
CHICAGO – As the White Sox return home for Game 3 of the American League Division Series (ALDS), the organization shares the following recommendations for fans who are attending postseason games at Rate Field, beginning Wednesday, October 7 vs. the Cleveland Guardians.
Tickets, Gate Opening Times and Ballpark Entry
- Street closures and heavy traffic are expected. Fans are encouraged to plan ahead, check street closures and take public transportation, if possible.
- First pitch of ALDS Game 3 is Wednesday, October 7 at 3 p.m. CT. Fans are encouraged to arrive early.
- Gates open two hours prior to scheduled first pitch.
- A limited amount of tickets are available at whitesox.com/postseason.
- All Postseason games at Rate Field will be “Blackout Games,” and fans are encouraged to wear black to show support for the White Sox.
- All fans attending Game 3 will receive a White Sox Rally Towel, presented by Plumbers 911.
Parking Information
- Only prepaid parking will be accepted at Rate Field during the postseason, including all accessible parking. No day-of game parking sales will be available for Postseason games.
- Parking lots open four hours before the start of the game. Fans holding mobile prepaid parking coupons should display the coupons prominently as they approach the ballpark.
- Fans should visit whitesox.com/parking for more information about parking. All parking must be purchased prior to arrival.
Rideshare and Public Transportation
- Fans planning to use rideshare services can head to the Rideshare Zone in Lot A for pick-up and drop-off.
- The White Sox recommend that fans utilize public transportation. The CTA Red Line stops near the ballpark at the Sox-35th Street station, and the Green Line is just two blocks farther east at the 35th Street station.
- A Metra stop at 35th Street is conveniently located just east of the Dan Ryan Expressway, along the Rock Island line.
Additional Fan Information
- ALDS Game 3 will be broadcast on TBS/HBO Max on Wednesday, October 7 at 3 p.m. CT. All ALDS games will be available on the White Sox radio home, ESPN 1000 Chicago.
- Fans will enjoy a live DJ and entertainment at the Gate 5 plaza (northeast corner of 35th and Shields).
- Official Postseason merchandise is available at the White Sox Team Store, A Fanatics Experience, and across all retail locations inside Rate Field.
- Bags will not be allowed into the ballpark. Exceptions will be made for medical bags, small clutch purses (smaller than 9´´ x 5´´ in size) and diaper bags when an infant is present. For more information about ballpark guidelines, visit whitesox.com/ballpark.
- Major League Baseball and the Chicago White Sox are committed to creating a safe, inclusive and enjoyable fan experience at Rate Field. Any person using derogatory language or demonstrating unruly behavior or actions will be subject to ejection from the ballpark.
- Finally, the White Sox ask fans to be respectful of the neighborhood and homes surrounding the ballpark before and after games.
