Cavan Sullivan's first goal for the U.S. men's national team came against its biggest rival.

The 17-year-old took advantage of a dreadful error from Mexico goalkeeper Raúl Rangel on Saturday, Oct. 3, finding the net from long distance to become the youngest USMNT goal-scorer ever.

With the USMNT up 1-0 in the 63rd minute, Sullivan intercepted a pass from Rangel 30 yards from goal. With the Mexico goalkeeper stranded way off his line, Sullivan calmly chipped the ball over his head and into an empty net.

Sullivan broke the record set by Mathis Albert just four days ago. Albert scored against Chile at age 17 years, 131 days, breaking a record previously held by Christian Pulisic.
