The running back position is already becoming a weekly battle between elite volume, touchdown production, and emerging opportunities. Week 4 of the 2026 NFL season offers plenty of all three. Jahmyr Gibbs has established himself as one of fantasy football’s most explosive options. Others continue to deliver the kind of touchdown-heavy production that makes them dependable RB1s every week. With injuries also reshaping backfields around the league, including a season-ending injury to De’Von Achane, Week 4 could be another critical week for fantasy roster decisions.

Week 4 Top Fantasy Football Picks

Jahmyr Gibbs, DET (@ CAR)

Mark Konezny-Imagn Images

Jahmyr Gibbs continues to make a compelling case as one of the most dangerous fantasy football running backs. Gibbs rushed for 99 yards and two touchdowns on 20 carries in Detroit’s 31-24 win over the Jets. That gave Gibbs six total touchdowns through his first three games. His versatility makes him particularly valuable in fantasy formats because he doesn’t need to dominate rushing attempts to produce a massive weekly score.

The Lions now travel to face Carolina in Week 4. Gibbs should remain firmly in the RB1 conversation. His combination of rushing volume, receiving involvement, and touchdown production gives him one of the highest ceilings at the position.

Derrick Henry, BAL (vs. TEN)

Derrick Henry continues to make the most of his opportunities. His Week 3 performance against Dallas only strengthened his fantasy outlook. Henry scored twice in Baltimore’s high-scoring 34-31 win over the Cowboys in Rio de Janeiro. The veteran running back has also accumulated 301 rushing yards while catching five passes for 38 yards this season. That makes Henry extremely difficult to leave out of fantasy lineups.

Henry gets an especially intriguing Week 4 matchup against the Tennessee Titans. He should once again be viewed as a high-end RB1. That’s particularly true with Baltimore continuing to rely on him in scoring situations.

Bijan Robinson, ATL (@ NO)

Bijan Robinson enters Week 4 after producing one of the most explosive rushing performances of the week. Robinson averaged 6.7 yards per carry against Green Bay. He even ripped off a 55-yard gain early in the game.

Once the rushing attack began rolling, Michael Penix and Drake London were able to take advantage of the opportunities created by the threat of Robinson’s running ability. With Penix back, Atlanta’s offense appears to have new life. Robinson stands to benefit significantly from that development. Brian Robinson Jr may spell him at times, but Bijan’s overall role and explosiveness make him an attractive RB1 option heading into Week 4.

Week 4 Fantasy Football Sleepers

Chase Brown, CIN (vs. JAC)

Chase Brown’s Week 3 numbers weren’t particularly impressive. Still fantasy football managers shouldn’t overreact to the reduced workload. Brown rushed for 61 yards on 13 carries in Cincinnati’s 30-27 loss to Pittsburgh. His 13 rushing attempts and two targets represented season lows. Howeve,r one down game should not necessarily change expectations for his role.

Brown remains positioned to operate as Cincinnati’s workhorse running back. The Bengals will look to get him more involved against Jacksonville in Week 4. If his rushing volume returns closer to his normal workload, his combination of carries and receiving involvement gives him a strong chance to produce RB2-level fantasy value. There’s also upside for considerably more if he reaches the end zone.

Chuba Hubbard, CAR (vs. DET)

Chuba Hubbard quietly delivered a productive fantasy football performance despite Carolina’s loss to Cleveland. Hubbard rushed 19 times for 82 yards. He also added four receptions for 28 yards, giving him 110 total yards on the afternoon. The biggest frustration for fantasy managers was his lack of a touchdown. Still, that doesn’t erase the value created by his workload.

He should continue to operate as the Panthers’ clear-cut workhorse for the foreseeable future. With Detroit coming to town in Week 4, Hubbard remains a viable fantasy option despite the difficult matchup.

Aaron Jones Sr., MIN (vs. MIA)

Aaron Jones is another running back whose volume makes him worth considering heading into Week 4. Jones rushed for 58 yards on 17 carries in Minnesota’s 23-16 win over Tampa Bay. He also caught five of six targets for 34 yards. That receiving involvement is important for his fantasy value. Even when the rushing efficiency isn’t there, Jones can accumulate points through receptions and passing-game opportunities.

He should be viewed as an RB2 option against Miami in Week 4. Fantasy managers shouldn’t expect a massive ceiling. Still, his workload gives him a reasonable floor, particularly in formats that reward receptions.

Running Back Injuries

Injuries could significantly alter the Week 4 running back landscape. De’Von Achane suffered a torn ACL and is out for the season. Fantasy managers who rostered Achane will need to identify the next source of production.

Breece Hall is dealing with a quad injury and is considered week-to-week. Rico Dowdle is dealing with a toe injury. Travis Etienne Jr. is managing a hamstring issue. These situations should be monitored closely before fantasy managers finalize their lineups.

Week 4 Outlook

Mandatory Credit: Patrick Gorski-Imagn Images

Gibbs, Henry, and Robinson headline the Week 4 rankings thanks to their combination of volume, explosiveness, receiving involvement, and scoring opportunities. Brown, Hubbard, and Jones provide different paths to fantasy football relevance. The injury situation also makes this an important week to monitor practice reports and late-breaking news.

For fantasy managers, Week 4 is about trusting established workloads while identifying the backfields where circumstances are creating new opportunities. The right decision could come down to more than just talent. It could come down to who is still healthy and who is positioned to receive the touches.
