Duke came out and did what it had to do in the final non-conference game of the season, routing William & Mary 62-7 to go into the bye week 4-0.

Double feature at quarterback
Walker Eget came out throwing, completing 5-of-6 passes for 72 yards and a touchdown on Duke’s first drive. He finished 16-of-22 for 182 yards and two scores.
In what seemed like a dual-threat quarterback system, Dan Mahan came in early in the game and completed his first two passes for touchdowns. Mahan was efficient, hitting 6-of-7 passes for 126 yards and three touchdowns.
Light dose of Nate Sheppard
The star running back rushed just nine times, but did enough with those, rushing for 116 yards and a touchdown. The goal was to keep him injury-free, and Duke did just that. Now, he has a bye week before heading deep into the ACC schedule.
Rushing defense stands tall
While moving the ball for the Tribe was difficult no matter what they did, running it was never an option, as the Blue Devils held William & Mary to 12 rushing yards.
Reserves get their time to shine
Javian Tanelus rushed for 69 yards and a touchdown, while true freshman CJ Givers scored on a 28-yard run in relief of Sheppard and CJ Campbell.
