The Red Sox would love to have some more momentum prior to the playoffs as they wrap up the penultimate regular season. Ranger Suárez would love to continue his own momentum with a 0.92 ERA in September. The left-hander is historically dependable in the playoffs and he can offer another reminder of that with an appetizer of sorts in the rubber match against the Cleveland Guardians. 

Here’s who the Red Sox will send to the plate behind him Thursday night at Fenway Park. 

The Guardians, who can clinch a playoff spot with a win or loss by the Astros or Rangers, counter with Daniel Espino. The right-hander is finally back on the mound after dealing with injuries after being selected in the first round of the 2019 draft.
