LSU had considered bringing Dae’Quan Wright and Zxavian Harris to their team, following their brief stints with NFL teams before being waived.
This raised the ire of the SEC and the NCAA, who tried to institute a ban on players who leave college to join the NFL, even if they don’t use up all of their eligibility or never take the field for a proper NFL game.

According to Ross Dellenger of Yahoo Sports, LSU completed their 105-man roster last night, which effectively ruled out the possibility of signing Dae’Quan Wright, Zxavian Harris, or any former professional players.
In response to this, Wright and Harris’ legal representatives reached out to Dellenger and informed him that the two were considering their legal options.
There is no word on whether the two players are trying to pursue legal action against LSU for not signing them, or just the NCAA and SEC for the legal barriers that stopped them.
It would make sense for them to go after the NCAA and SEC, who were directly opposed to allowing players who left college for the NFL to return to college eligibility.
So far, the NCAA and the SEC have been stopped from implementing this ban unconditionally by judges, but this order won’t last forever.
It would make sense for former pro athletes to pursue legal action as quickly as possible, given how pertinent the case is and the fact that the judges are actively hearing arguments right now.
If they are successful in pursuing legal action, it could become a landmark victory for student-athletes, and completely change the landscape of collegiate and professional sports in the country forever.
