· Yahoo Sports
Davante Adams is entering his 13th NFL season with the Los Angeles Rams, and at 33 years old every practice rep and recovery moment gets a little more attention than it used to. So when he was spotted icing his knee on the sideline, it did not take long for someone to notice.

The Athletic’s Nate Atkins asked him about it, and Adams kept it short and lighthearted, brushing off any concern with a quick joke before getting back to work.
Davante Adams claims he is an ‘old-a** man’ ahead of new season
Davante Adams is 33 years old, but he showed last year that he can still make a big impact. In his first season with the Los Angeles Rams, Adams played 14 games and finished with 60 catches, 789 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns. His 14 receiving touchdowns led the NFL, making him one of the league’s most productive receivers in the red zone.

Mandatory Credit: Jim Dedmon-Imagn ImagesAdams has established himself as one of the NFL’s best receivers over the years. Through his career, he has played 178 regular-season games, with 1,017 receptions, 12,633 receiving yards and 117 receiving touchdowns. He has also been selected to six Pro Bowls and earned three first-team All-Pro honors.
Adams was asked about the ice pack during a recent conversation with The Athletic’s Nate Atkins. Instead of making it sound serious, he joked about being an older player.
“I’m an old-a** man,” he said. He also assured everyone that he was feeling ‘pretty good’ heading into the season.
At this stage of his career, recovery and taking care of his body have become an important part of his routine. Adams said he feels good physically and is ready for the season ahead.
There has been no indication that the ice pack is related to a serious injury concern. After recording 14 touchdown catches in 2025, Adams will look to remain a productive part of the Rams’ offense this season.
Rams have several key players on offense besides Davante Adams
The Rams had one of the NFL’s best offenses in 2025. They scored 518 points and finished the regular season with 6,879 total yards. Matthew Stafford threw for 4,707 yards and 46 touchdowns. Puka Nacua had 129 catches for 1,715 yards and 10 touchdowns.
Kyren Williams also had a strong season, rushing for 1,252 yards and 10 touchdowns. Blake Corum finished with 180 rushing yards and two touchdowns.
With Nacua, Adams and Williams, the Rams return a core group of proven offensive contributors. Nacua gives Stafford a top target, while Adams adds another experienced receiver to the passing game.
Stafford, Nacua, Williams and Corum are all back for the 2026 season. The Rams will have much of the same offensive group from last year.
Adams is expected to play a significant role alongside Nacua this season. If he stays healthy, he should remain one of the Rams’ key offensive contributors.
