Barcelona star Lamine Yamal has reportedly joined the club’s captaincy group for the 2026-27 season.
Hansi Flick explained before the Joan Gamper Trophy that Raphinha, Eric Garcia and Pedri were his three captains for the start of the season but added that the players would hold a final vote once the squad had been finalized.

According to Mundo Deportivo, the vote was taken on Friday and Barcelona’s five captains for the new campaign were confirmed.
The report claims Flick decided that Raphinha and Pedri would stay as the first two captains. The players then voted for Garcia, De Jong and Yamal.
De Jong was already part of the captaincy group, while Garcia has previously been tipped to wear the armband at Camp Nou.
The inclusion of Yamal is perhaps the big surprise as he’s still only 19.
However, there’s no doubt he’s one of the team’s biggest stars and has already won La Liga and Copa del Rey titles with Barca as well as the World Cup and the Euros with Spain.
