Travis Kelce has returned for the 2026 season in fine shape, but there were many people on the internet who would have you believe otherwise at the start of camp.

It is year 14 for Kelce, who has not put up a 1,000 yard season since 2022 as both he and the Chiefs have a lot to prove over the coming months.

The 36-year-old enjoyed a hectic offseason, which was notably capped off by marrying Taylor Swift in the wedding of the century in New York City.

This busy offseason sparked speculation that the tight end had returned to Chiefs’ training camp severely out of shape.

However, that was not the case and his brother, Jason Kelce, has hit out at those who made up such rumours online.

Jason Kelce hits out over Travis Kelce’s offseason fat shaming

Following the fake images circulating over the 36-year-old, Chiefs fans were impressed by Kelce’s training footage.

It was certainly a positive reassurance that the tight end was returning to training camp in excellent condition.

Jason was not overly impressed by some of the images that were doing the rounds online and fooling even him about his brother’s physical condition.

“It wasn’t all good. It did start off with a lot of fat shaming my brother,” Jason said on the New Heights podcast.

“We were in a world there for a little bit where they were saying fat is bad,” replied Travis.

To which Jason then added: “AI has gotten so good, it was hard to tell.”

Kelce is going to need to have a big season if the Chiefs are going to return to their usual high standards.

The 6-11 record from last season was seriously underwhelming, although many will put it down to injuries to the likes of Patrick Mahomes.

A couple of years on from their last Super Bowl victory, there are now people questioning whether the Chiefs are still one of the top forces in the NFL.

Kelce’s form will likely play a huge role in answering any critics the Chiefs have.
