Richmond Hill business targeted in three arsons; suspect sought in Halton break-and-enter

York Regional Police are looking for at least three suspects after a business in Richmond Hill was set on fire three times in recent days.
Police said all three incidents happened in the early hours, targeting a business in a plaza in the Leslie St. and East Wilmot St. area.
According to police, on Aug. 19 at approximately 5:15 a.m., two suspects arrived at the plaza in a black Honda Accord, with one of them seen smashing the front door of the business and entering with a red jerry can.
Police said the suspect ran from the business, followed by an explosion and visible fire.
Both suspects allegedly fled the area in the vehicle, which police said was stolen in Toronto.
Then on Aug. 21 at approximately 5:20 a.m., police said two suspects went to the same plaza in a dark-coloured SUV.
Police said the passenger was carrying a red jerry can and poured gasoline near the front entrance of the business and ignited it.
They allegedly fled in the SUV, which investigators later determined was stolen in Toronto, cops said.
The third incident occurred Wednesday at approximately 3:15 a.m. when police said three suspects arrived to the same plaza in a black SUV.
Investigators shared a video of the third incident, which shows two suspects smashing the front window of the business before entering with jerry cans and igniting a fire.
Police said investigators determined the licence plate of the SUV they allegedly fled belonged to a stolen vehicle in Ajax.
Police said no one was inside the business at the time of the three incidents, and no injuries were reported.
Police said the fire burned out on its own in each incident.

Suspect sought in Halton Hills break-and-enter
Halton Regional Police said it’s seeking a suspect in connection with a daytime break-and-enter at a home in Halton Hills earlier this month.
Police said, on Aug. 14 at approximately 11:20 a.m., a man allegedly broke into a home in the Number 5 Side Rd. and Sixth Line area.
Cops allege the suspect knocked on the front door and looked into the backyard before he smashed the locked front door.
According to police, the suspect searched the home for valuables and stole cash and jewelry.
Police describe him as a white male, approximately 55 to 65 years old, with a heavy build.
Surveillance footage released by investigators show the suspect wearing a dark baseball cap, blue shirt and dark pants.

Two sought in East Gwillimbury robbery
York Regional Police said they need the public’s help identifying two suspects following a commercial robbery in East Gwillimbury last week.
Police said, on Aug. 19, at approximately 1 a.m., two masked suspects entered a business in the Woodbine Ave. and Davis Dr. area and demanded cash.
One suspect allegedly sprayed the victim with an “aerosol irritant” before the two fled on foot with cash.
Police said the victim was treated for their injuries at the scene.
Investigators released two images showing the suspects, with both of them seen wearing a dark hoodie.
