Jameis Winston is known for a lot of things, and among them is the New York Giants quarterback’s passion for giving intense motivational speeches to his teammates before games.

Even before he became a Giant, Winston had gone viral several times for the way he hyped up his teams.

Football fans got a glimpse of one of his sideline monologues recently, when the former Florida State Seminoles star tried to hype up his team for a preseason game against the Miami Dolphins at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens.

Just before New York took the field for the Dolphins game, Winston talked to his team in such a fiery manner that it seemed as though he was preparing them for a playoff game instead of an essentially meaningless exhibition game in August.

“I’m gonna show y’all right now that you don’t gotta have a hype man to go out there and do your best and dominate,” Winston said. 

“I don’t gotta go out there and scream to the top of my lungs for you to know it’s a premise to come out here where it’s blue and go out there and take care of you and your family. Alright? We in Miami, the stars out here, the sun gonna be out, so we might as well take this little light of mine and let it shine. We might as well take this little light of mine and let it shine. Take advantage of your opportunity today. Let’s go out there and dominate. Alright? Dominate on three. One, two, three, dominate!”

Winston is expected to be Jaxson Dart’s chief backup in the 2026 season, but he’s definitely more than just quarterback insurance for New York. He can make an impact on the Giants even without playing, simply by keeping everyone’s energy level in check.
