Joel Erickson of the Indy Star wrote in his post-practice takeaways that quarterback Daniel Jones got off to a slow start, but it was Allen's steady presence that helped turn the tide.
Jones would look Allen's way four times, with him catching three of those targets. The lone incompletion was on a pass breakup by Sauce Gardner. Erickson adds that Allen found success working the middle of the field and finding the soft spots in zone coverages.
Jones would then go on to complete nine consecutive passes.
On display was the reliability that Allen can bring to the Colts' offense. For his career, he's caught 68% of his targets. On third and fourth downs, Allen has caught 336 career passes, with a catch rate of 63%, with 29 touchdowns.
Allen has a knack for finding space in the coverage, and his route-running prowess allows him to create separation.
Tuesday's training camp practice was a glimpse of the impact that Allen can have.
