Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heavy rain warning for nearly half of Madhya Pradesh on Tuesday.
Tikamgarh, Damoh, Narsinghpur, Betul and Rajgarh have been placed under an orange alert for very heavy rainfall.

Heavy rain is also expected in Guna, Agar Malwa, Shajapur, Sehore, Harda, Sagar, Raisen, Narmadapuram, Chhindwara, Pandhurna, Seoni, Balaghat, Mandla, Jabalpur, Katni, Shahdol, Chhatarpur, Panna, Sidhi and Singrauli. These 25 districts may receive more than 2.5 inches of rainfall.
Meanwhile, Bhopal, Vidisha, Indore, Dhar, Alirajpur, Burhanpur, Barwani, Khandwa, Khargone, Jhabua, Ujjain, Neemuch, Mandsaur, Dewas, Ratlam, Gwalior, Shivpuri, Datia, Ashoknagar, Morena, Bhind, Sheopur, Dindori, Rewa, Satna, Mauganj, Maihar, Umaria, Anuppur and Niwari are also likely to receive light to heavy rainfall.

Waterlogging was reported in Vidisha markets, while traffic was affected at several places in Bhopal.
During the past 24 hours, Narmadapuram recorded an average of 3.7 inches of rainfall. Karera in Shivpuri received 5.4 inches, while Orchha in Niwari recorded 3.3 inches. Rehli in Sagar received 3 inches of rain. In Bhopal, Kolar received 3.2 inches, Nawibagh recorded 3.1 inches and the city received around 3 inches of rainfall.
Senior weather scientist said a low-pressure area and active trough are causing continuous rainfall across the state. Alerts have been issued for several districts for the next three days.
According to the IMD, Anuppur, Dindori, Niwari, Satna, Shahdol, Sidhi, Singrauli, Umaria, Bhind, Bhopal, Burhanpur, Guna, Gwalior, Khargone and Rajgarh have received above-normal rainfall so far this monsoon season.
