Farmers Begin Indefinite Protest Over Badnawar-Timrawani Road Compensation In MP’s Jhabua

Jhabua (Madhya Pradesh): Farmers affected by land acquisition for the Badnawar-Timrawani four-lane road began an indefinite protest at the Jhabua Collectorate on Thursday, demanding fair compensation for their acquired land.
The protest, organised under the banner of the Bharatiya Kisan Sangh, began at 1 pm.

Farmers alleged that the compensation fixed by the administration was significantly below the prevailing market rates. They demanded compensation at four times the market value as per applicable provisions.
Farmers said protests had earlier been held in phases in Petlawad, Thandla and Meghnagar. They had also submitted a memorandum to Chief Minister Mohan Yadav during his Thandla visit on July 31, but claimed that no concrete action followed.
The protesters said they would continue their agitation until their demands were addressed. They stayed at the protest site overnight and arranged meals there, with women from their families also joining the demonstration.
Bharatiya Kisan Sangh leaders, including Krishna Pal Singh Rathore, Dayaram Patidar, Bachchu Singh Meda, and Vardichand Patidar, led the protest.
Police personnel from Jhabua Kotwali and nearby police stations were deployed at the Collectorate for security.
