50 Candidates Selected In Junior Assistant Recruitment; Commission Declares Results

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC) has declared the final result for recruitment to the posts of Junior Assistant in the Industrial Development Department. As per the result announced on Friday, 50 candidates have been selected based on the Junior Assistant Main Examination. The recruitment process has been completed in accordance with prescribed rules, merit and reservation provisions. This further strengthens the Yogi Government’s commitment to a transparent and merit-based recruitment system in the state.

According to the Commission, applications were initially invited for recruitment to 62 Junior Assistant posts. Following a revised requisition received from the department, the number of vacancies was reduced to 54. Based on the revised vacancies, the Commission completed the selection process and made the final selection of 50 candidates.

Of the 50 finally selected candidates, 34 belong to the Unreserved category, 3 to Scheduled Castes, 1 to Scheduled Tribes, 7 to Other Backward Classes and 5 to the Economically Weaker Sections category. The Commission clarified that candidates eligible under horizontal reservation were adjusted within their respective original categories. Prescribed procedures were also followed for women, persons with disabilities and other categories covered under horizontal reservation. In certain categories where eligible candidates were not available against the notified vacancies, the posts were carried forward and other eligible candidates were selected in accordance with the rules.

The Commission has also released category-wise cut-off marks along with the final result. The cut-off for the Unreserved category stood at 65 marks. The cut-off was 26.75 marks for Scheduled Castes, 50 marks for Scheduled Tribes, 62.50 marks for OBC candidates and 63.75 marks for EWS candidates. Under horizontal reservation, the cut-off for persons with disabilities in the ASD/HH/DE/OH category was 54.75 marks, while the cut-off for other disability categories was 44.25 marks. The cut-off for women candidates was recorded at 42 marks.

The Yogi Government has consistently emphasised making government recruitments transparent, fair and merit-based. The final result of the Junior Assistant recruitment is another step in that direction. The selection process has been completed on the basis of the written examination, document verification and applicable reservation provisions. The Commission has clarified that the final selection result shall remain subject to the orders that may be passed in the related petitions pending before the High Court.

In addition, five candidates have been included provisionally, and their final selection will remain subject to the Commission’s decision. The names of the selected candidates and the category-wise cut-off marks have been made available on the Commission’s official website.
