Flag Hoisting Ceremony Held with Patriotic Fervour at MHADA Headquarters on Independence Day

The 80th Independence Day of India was celebrated with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour at the headquarters of the Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) at Bandra East on August 15, 2026. MHADA Vice President and Chief Executive Officer Sanjeev Jaiswal hoisted the National Flag on the occasion.

Following the flag hoisting, contingents from Kherwadi Police Station, Maharashtra Security Force and MHADA Security Guards presented a ceremonial salute to the National Flag. The gathering then joined in the collective rendition of the National Anthem and the Maharashtra State Song, creating an atmosphere filled with patriotism and national pride. Senior MHADA officials, officers and employees from various Boards and departments attended the ceremony in large numbers.

As part of the Independence Day celebrations, a series of cultural programmes was organised on the premises of the MHADA Headquarters. MHADA officers and employees enthusiastically participated in the programme and presented patriotic songs. Children of MHADA employees also joined the celebrations and showcased their talent through patriotic performances. The presentations paid tribute to the sacrifices and invaluable contribution of India’s freedom fighters while conveying a strong message of national unity, patriotism, social responsibility and commitment towards nation-building.

A special highlight of the ceremony was the release of the Independence Day Special Issue of MHADA’s in-house journal ‘Parisar Parichay’ at the hands of Vice President and CEO Mr. Sanjeev Jaiswal. The special issue highlights various aspects of housing, development initiatives and citizen-centric activities undertaken by MHADA.

Addressing the gathering on the occasion, Mr. Milind Shambharkar, Chief Officer, Mumbai Building Repairs and Reconstruction Board, extended his warm greetings to all officers, employees and their families on the occasion of Independence Day.

The Independence Day celebrations concluded in an atmosphere of patriotism, unity and renewed commitment towards public service and nation-building.
