MM 8.14: Maryland women’s lacrosse’s Kori Edmondson and JJ Suriano named to training camp roster

As it prepares for the Pan-American Sixes Lacrosse Championships, the U.S. women’s national team named its 22-person roster for the first of two training camps. The squad featured two Maryland women’s lacrosse players.

Kori Edmondson, a member of the World Lacrosse Championships team, played sparingly during the U.S.’s gold medal run. But the midfielder produced four goals in three appearances with the New York Charging as part of her WLL rookie campaign.

The National Goaltender of the Year, JJ Suriano was phenomenal during her breakout 2026 season. She was third in the country with a .510 save percentage and conceded just 10 goals per game. Suriano is one of eight players on the roster with college eligibility remaining. 

With over a month remaining before the competition begins, Edmondson and Suriano will look to make their case for a spot on the final roster during the five-day training camp.

Former Maryland women’s lacrosse standout attacker Megan Whittle retired from the sport.

Former Maryland men’s basketball forward Elijah Saunders is currently seeking a fifth year of eligibility.
