Dodgers Walk Off Royals For First Series Win of August
· Yahoo Sports
The Los Angeles Dodgers won in walk-off fashion Tuesday, marking Blake Snell’s return from the injured list with their first series win of the month.
Snell had a fantastic showing in his first start since returning from a procedure to remove loose bodies from his elbow, pitching six innings of one-run baseball for the Dodgers. He struck out the side in the first inning, and logged 10 total strikeouts on the day.

The Royals scored their only run of the game shortly afterwards, though, as Salvador Perez hit a sacrifice fly to bring home Bobby Witt. Jr.
The Dodgers’ offense struggled to get things going for several innings afterwards, logging just one more hit through the sixth inning. In the seventh, though, they finally figured things out against Royals starter Michael Wacha.

The Royals didn’t let the Dodgers pull away, though, as they scored three in the top of the eighth to take the lead. Jac Caglianone continued to kill the Dodgers, bringing home Nick Loftin with a single, and Perez logged his second RBI of the night with a single immediately afterwards.
Andy Pages went on to drop a line drive in center field on the transfer, letting the ball roll to the wall in center field, allowing Caglianone to score from second while tagging up.
Betts came through for the Dodgers once again in the eighth, though, driving home yet another run with an RBI single to tie up the game.

Neither the Dodgers nor the Royals scored in the ninth inning, forcing the game into extra-innings. Seth Halvorsen came on for his Dodgers debut in the 10th inning, and managed to strand the speedy Kyle Isbel on the bases to give LA the chance to walk off.
And walk off the Dodgers did, as Max Muncy hit a single into center field to drive home the winning run in the bottom of the 10th.
The Dodgers have now won two games in a row after a run of terrible form, and will look to carry their momentum into the series finale, which comes Wednesday at 7:10 p.m. PT.
