Colorado offensive line coach says 'every starting job is open'

Under Deion Sanders, the Colorado Buffaloes' offensive line has been a major talking point each season and usually for the wrong reasons. The CU o-line has never been a strength of the program and only skated by during the 9-4 2024 season thanks to the immeasurable toughness of Shedeur Sanders.

Now, entering year four of the Coach Prime regime, the offensive line is becoming a major priority, and according to offensive line coach Gunnar White, every position is up for grabs.
"We have a lot of guys battling for positions across the board," White said during his Monday media availability. "I've seen vast improvement since spring."
Colorado brought in several experienced starters over the offseason, but nothing is being given, and according to White, most guys are receiving reps at multiple positions. Versatility along a line is a significant trait to have, as you can often mitigate injuries more effectively.
White also noted that he would not mind a rotation along the o-line, believing it is a way to keep players fresh and keep the physicality high. CU's offensive line coaches are emphasizing aggression and violence while becoming more "vertical," which a rotation would certainly help establish.
"The defensive line does it, so why can't we?" White said about a possible rotation along the offensive line. "I think we have the guys to do it."
With the Buffaloes' fall camp entering its second week, White is not concerned about naming a starting offensive line, and he doesn't appear close to a decision either.
"The night before the game," White said on when he'll know his Week 1 starting five.
