The boy told Reaction Officers that his stepfather assaulted and strangled his mother during an argument at about 05:00.
He could not explain what triggered the argument before fleeing to his aunt’s home next door to seek help.
Reaction Officers restrained the suspect after speaking to the child.

Officers noticed blood on the suspect’s shirt. They also found that he had suffered a burst lip during an altercation with the victim.
