Jessie Rosas will have to wait longer for his UFC debut.
Just hours before he was due on the scale, Rosas (8-1) was removed from his fight against Miles Johns. According to his camp, he was not cleared by a UFC doctor to compete due to a wound on his forehead. The Rosas team claims it is a scratch from a mat burn, but states the UFC doctor believes it is infected.

"UFC doctor pulled my brother out of his fight," Rosas' brother and UFC fighter, Raul Jr., wrote on Instagram Stories. "Due to a glove scratch in his forehead as he believes it's an infection. We did what we could, got approval from 2 doctors everything was okay, but the UFC doctor made the call. There's nothing we can do, my brohter was ready. Things happen for a reason, Gods plan. His time will come."
Jessie also commented on the news himself, expressing his frustration with the situation.
"So as you guys know I was forced to pull out due to a glove scratch on the forehead," Jessie wrote on Instagram. "I tried doing everything in my hands to try to keep this fight even got approved by two different doctors but at the end of the day the ufc doctor has the last call. Sorry to all the people that wanted to see me fight I'm upset on how things played out especially this close to the fight but f*ck it things happen for a reason the only thing I can do is just stay ready, my time will come."
Rosas' father also commented on the news, respecting the doctor's decision while remaining optimistic that his son will have his debut soon.
"Guys, unfortunately, we haven't been cleared from the mat burn on the forehead, as the UFC doctor considers it a health risk for the fighters," Raul wrote on Instagram. "Therefore, we were pulled from the fight to prioritize the safety and well-being of their athletes. Thanks for all the support and love. @eljessierosas UFC debut is coming soon #trustinggodsplan"
Johns (15-5 MMA, 6-5 UFC) will remain on the card to take on replacement opponent Gianni Vazquez (14-5-1 MMA, 0-1 UFC), who returns for his second UFC opportunity on very short notice. Heavy first reported the news of the new matchup, which was confirmed by Vazquez.
