The 2026 Pennsbury Athletic Hall of Fame will introduce its new class on Saturday, Sept. 26, after honoring the 12 inductees at the Sept. 25 home football game against Abington.
The annual banquet is set for Sept. 26 at the Makefield Highlands on Woodside Road in Yardley starting at 12:30 p.m. Dinner tickets are $60. If interested in attending the Saturday afternoon banquet, email [email protected] before Aug. 29.

Here are the inductees in alphabetical order, along with their graduation year and primary sports:
Greg Bickel, 2007 (football, track & field)
Bickel secured second-team all-state recognition at defensive end on the Falcons’ 2006 district championship team that went 13-2 and lost to Bethlehem Liberty 45-38 in a four-overtimes state semifinal. A three-year varsity starter, he also earned All-SOL and Courier Times honors.
Tim Cole, 2002 (volleyball)
Cole earned first-team all-state honors in 2002 as a senior, in addition to Bucks County Courier Times Player of the Yeaf and All-SOL recognition. He was a team captain during his last two seasons.
Tor Covello, 2008 (volleyball)
Covello was a first-team all-state selection as a junior and senior, earning All-American recognition and Courier Times Player of the Year honors in ’08. He also was all-district in his final two high school seasons.
Zakiyyah Herrera (Richardson), 2012 (track & field)
A four-year varsity performer in outdoor and indoor track, she won the 100 meters at the SOL spring championships four times, the 200 three times (2009. 2011-12) and the 400 twice (2009-10). She finished second at districts in the 100 and 200 meters as a senior.
Brooke Muth, 2007 (softball, volleyball)
Muth was the winning pitcher in the Falcons’ 3-2 state championship victory over Latrobe in ’07, throwing a no-hitter for 6⅓ innings. Muth, who also played on the Falcons’ 2005 team that won a state title, went 21-2 on the season. A four-year starter in softball, she also was a three-year starter in volleyball.
David Oppenheimer, 1974 (football, track & field)
Oppenheimer was a Bucks County Courier Times and All-Big 8 selection in football as a senior in 1973, as well as second-team all-state. He also received the Pennsbury Gold Award in track (1974).
Molly Phillips Scarlato, 2011 (basketball, soccer, volleyball)
She earned nine varsity letters, highlighted by being named first-team All-SOL and first-team All-Southeast PA in soccer. She also was on the Courier Times’ 2000-09 Mount Rushmore at Pennsbury, signifying one of the school’s four top female athletes that decade, and a 2011 Falcon Award winner.
Samuel Raywood, 2015 (football, track & field)
A three-year starter in football, Raywood played on the 2014 District One championship team, in the 2015 Bucks County All-Star Classic and Blue/Grey All-American Game.
Sam Ruta, 2020 (baseball)
A three-year starter, he was a first-team All-SOL National pick in 2018 and ’19, earning the John Bodnarik award for outstanding school citizenship in 2020. In college, Ruta set Army West Point career records in home runs (40) and RBIs (187, a Patriot League record). He signed with the Kansas City Royals as an undrafted free agent in 2024, advancing to Double-A in ’25 before being placed on military leave this spring.
Krista Van Wert Weimer, 2001 (softball)
She was dominant on the mound on the Falcons’ 29-0 state championship team in ’01, securing PA Gatorade State Player of the Year laurels. She took a 55-inning scoreless streak into the final against Montour, adding three hits and two RBIs in the 5-1 win. She also picked up a PHS Falcon Award.
John “Doc” Wilson, head coach (swimming)
The girls’ head coach for 18 years and the boys for 17 years, he compiled a .705 winning percentage and guided the girls to the 2003 district title. The boys were the SOL champs in 2009 and ’10.
Joseph Yasalonis, 2010 (volleyball)
A three-year varsity starter, he played on the 2008 and ’09 district championship teams and a pair of state-runnerup squads. He was first-team all-state as a senior, as well as a High School All-American and the Bucks County Courier Times and SOL Player of the Year. Yasalonis holds the school career record in kills with 671, blocks (188) and the single-season record for kills with 347 as a senior. He ended up on the Courier Times’ Mount Rushmore of the top four Pennsbury male athletes in the 2000s.
