There is only one club in the big leagues through Tuesday that has at least 70 wins on the season, and it is none other than the Milwaukee Brewers. The Brewers snapped a two-game losing skid by taking down the Pittsburgh Pirates, 4-2, in the second game of the series at American Family Field in Milwaukee.
With that win, the Brewers set a new franchise record for fewest games played to hit the 70-win mark.
“The Brewers! 70th win in their 113th game,” Sarah Langs of MLB.com shared via a social media post on X (formerly Twitter). “That’s the fewest games to reach 70 wins in franchise history”

It is an impressive feat, to say the least, for the Brewers, especially when considering that many thought they would regress after setting the franchise record for most wins in a season with 97 victories.
Right-hander Logan Henderson gave Milwaukee a decent start on the mound, as he gave up only two earned runs on four hits with a walk and eight strikeouts through six innings of work. The Pirates got the lead early when Henderson allowed a home run in the third inning, but Milwaukee scored the next three runs in the contest. Henderson surrendered another home run in the fifth inning that trimmed the Brewers’ lead to 3-2, but Luis Lara added an insurance run in the bottom of the frame with an RBI single.
Milwaukee will next shoot for win No. 71 while attempting to take the Pittsburgh series Wednesday night. Kyle Harrison is scheduled to start in the finale for the Brewers, while the Pirates will have Paul Skenes toeing the rubber.
