RailRiders win sixth in a row; sit alone in first place

DES MOINES, IA (WBRE/WYOU)— The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders are alone atop the MiLB International League East Division after winning 7-4 on Saturday over Iowa. The win is the sixth in a row for SWB, and the fifth in a row over Iowa. The RailRiders are now 21-9 for the second half of the season. Scranton/Wilkes-Barre sits a 0.5 game ahead of the Durham Bulls for first place.
J.C Escarra, Oswaldo Cabrera, and George Lombard Jr. all homered on Saturday for Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. Escarra’s home run drove in three runs as the RailRiders catcher finished with 3 RBI, adding a walk on the evening.

The SWB bullpen tossed 4.1 innings of scoreless ball on Saturday. Kervin Castro, Eric Reyzelman, and Brad Hanner took the mound in relief. Castro picked up the win, his third of the season. Reyzelman recorded his second hold of the season, while Hanner earned his fourth save of the year.
The RailRiders go for its seventh win in a row, and the sweep over the Cubs on Sunday, August 2nd. First pitch between SWB and Iowa is at 2:08pm EST.
