Yankees, Cubs weather report Saturday: Lots of rain in forecast (8/1/26)

CHICAGO — The Windy City is going through a wet and windy Saturday.

The forecast is calling for heavy rain all afternoon, but it’s expected to stop in time to get in the Yankees-Cubs’ game.

First pitch is scheduled for 7:15 p.m. Central, 8:15 ET.

If the game is rained out, it will be made up in a Sunday doubleheader. A 2:20 p.m., Central, 3:30 p.m., ET single game could become a day-night doubleheader.

Yankees left-hander Max Fried and Cubs left-hander David Peterson are the scheduled starters for Saturday.

The Yankees won Friday’s series opener 2-0 to improve to 3-2 during their week in Chicago, which began with a four-game split with the White Sox at Rate Field.
