The Oregon football team hopes for a memorable 2026 season, under head coach Dan Lanning. Oregon is led by Dante Moore, a quarterback who is getting plenty of attention this offseason. It now appears that Moore has a strange habit, when talking in the huddle with his team.

“Sometimes Dante farts in the huddle, and we have a like a little competition of who can fart,” Oregon tight end Jamari Johnson said, per KOIN News and reported by College Transfer Portal.

Oregon fans probably don’t care that Moore does this, as long as he wins games. The Ducks have had a lot of success under Lanning, making the College Football Playoff in 2024 and 2025.

Moore threw for 3,565 passing yards in 2025, with 30 touchdown passes. He also threw 10 interceptions for the Ducks, who lost in the CFP to Indiana.

Moore has the trust of his head coach.

“Had an unbelievable year last year. Is really obviously a special quarterback. What makes Dante so special is who he is as a person, seeing the community outreach he does, the leader he is for his teammates, the work he’s that done,” Coach Lanning said about Moore at Big Ten Media Days, per 247 Sports.

Lanning in fact has two solid quarterbacks. He not only has Moore, but also Nebraska transfer Dylan Raiola. Raiola started a lot of games for the Cornhuskers.

“I think there’s always a looming threat. But not with Dylan. I believe Dylan chose Oregon knowing in advance what it looks like at Oregon. He wanted to sign up for an opportunity to be with us. We were transparent throughout the process that there’s a great chance that Dante could be back. Dylan has done an unbelievable job changing his body, working really hard. He has unbelievable talent, a smart player, that has the opportunity to get exposed to our system,” Lanning added.

Oregon kicks off the 2026 football season with a game against Boise State.
