Best No. 46 in Steelers history: RB Reggie Harrison

No. 46 doesn’t quite have the same prestige as other previous entries in our countdown kickoff, but the best wearer in Steelers history is running back Reggie Harrison.

Harrison, who played with the Steelers from 1974 to 1977, was primarily a depth piece for Pittsburgh. He won two Super Bowls with the Steelers and played a huge role in one of the team’s victories.

During Super Bowl X against the Cowboys, Harrison blocked a punt, which resulted in a safety and cut Dallas’ lead to 10-9. The Steelers would ultimately defeat the Cowboys 21-17, thanks in part to that game-changing play.

Harrison’s career totals of 631 rushing yards and eight touchdowns don’t jump off the stat page, but that doesn’t change the impact he made on the Steel City brand of football.
