While the questions were largely about the team, he did provide an update on Mia Bieniemy, who was the victim of a shooting last weekend.

Reid said that she is no longer in the ICU and that "she's doing great, better than she was. Making progress, so we're happy about that."

The head coach confirmed that offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy, husband of Mia, remains away from the team and in Virginia alongside his wife as she recovers.

"Eric's a big part of this. (We) love having him here. But right now, it's important that he takes care of business. And everybody knows that.

“So everybody's game is picked up and they're all working hard. Eric will be back soon enough to jump in there and do his thing."

Mia was shot on Sunday morning at the couple's home in Virginia. Eric was at training camp when the incident occurred. Details are still being released, but their son Elijah (27) has been taken into custody and charged with three felonies.

A new video showed police carrying Mia away from the home so that she could get medical attention. The video also showed the responding officers putting cuffs on Elijah and taking him into custody.

Eric is in his first season back with the Chiefs. He was Kansas City's OC from 2018 to 2022, helping the team win Super Bowl LIV and LVII.
