Premier League striker valued at €130 million dreams of joining Barcelona – report

In a major development, journalist Helena Condis of COPE reports that AFC Bournemouth striker Eli Junior Kroupi wants to join FC Barcelona this summer.

The 20-year-old French striker has emerged as one of the alternatives that the Blaugrana are considering for priority target Julian Alvarez.
As reported earlier in the week, the Catalans have already held exploratory talks with the player’s entourage as well as his club.
Kroupi wants Barcelona transfer
Now, as per the aforementioned report, Kroupi is very excited about the possibility of joining Barcelona this summer.

The young forward, who enjoyed a fine debut season in the Premier League in 2025/26, views the move to the Spotify Camp Nou as his absolute dream and would jump at the chance.
In 35 matches in his maiden campaign with Bournemouth, Kroupi finished with 13 goals. While the numbers are not staggering, the youngster showcased his potential and eye for a goal, attracting plenty of interest.
Bournemouth do not wish to sell
However, as already reported, Bournemouth have zero intentions of selling Kroupi this summer and consider the French forward an ‘untouchable’ in their sporting reject.
As such, the Premier League giants have set a mammoth €130 million price tag on the 20-year-old in order to scare off suitors.

That valuation could prove to be a deterring factor Barcelona in their pursuit of Kroupi, considering that they are unwilling to spend more than €100 million on Alvarez, who happens to be their main target for the centre-forward situation.
So, it remains to be seen how the situation evolves in the coming weeks, with the Catalans still putting in efforts to try and unlock the Alvarez situation with Atletico Madrid.
With the club’s offer for the Argentine international set to expire at the end of this month, the La Liga champions could decide to step up their pursuit of Kroupi if there is no breakthrough in talks with Atleti.
Bournemouth’s reluctance to sell and the high valuation of the youngster could again prove to be a hurdle for Hansi Flick & co.
