The Boland Kavaliers continued their impressive Currie Cup form with a commanding 41-3 victory over the Stormers XXIII in Wellington on Sunday.

Fresh from last week’s win over the Bulls XV, Boland delivered another statement performance in front of an enthusiastic home crowd to remain unbeaten.
Speedster Jayden Bantom was the star of the show, contributing 26 points through three tries, four conversions and a penalty as the Kavaliers outclassed their Cape neighbours.
Fast start sets the tone
Boland made their intentions clear from the outset, scoring twice inside the opening 10 minutes.
Domenic Smit crossed first before Xavier Mitchell added a second to hand the hosts a 10-0 advantage.
Although the Stormers XXIII enjoyed more possession as the half progressed, they struggled to break down a resolute Boland defence.
Their only points came in the 19th minute when Dominic Malgas slotted a penalty to make it 10-3.
Bantom added a penalty of his own before the break to send the Kavaliers into halftime with a deserved 13-3 lead.
Bantom shines in dominant second half
Boland took complete control after the restart.
A powerful driving maul created the platform for Joshua Eras to score early in the second half before Bantom took centre stage.
The winger crossed three times to complete a memorable afternoon and secure a comprehensive bonus-point victory.
The convincing result follows Boland’s victory over the Bulls XV last weekend and underlines the Kavaliers’ strong preparations ahead of the new campaign.
Other results
In other matches in Round 2, the Cheetahs beat the Hollywoodbets Sharks 43-21 in Bloemfontein on Friday night.
In Saturday’s two matches, the Lions bounced back from their opening-round defeat with a commanding 52-29 win over the Pumas in Johannesburg, while defending champion Griquas reignited their campaign with a resounding 56-26 success over the Bulls XV in Kimberley.
Standings
After two rounds, the Cheetahs top the standings with 10 points from their two bonus point wins, one more than the Kavaliers, who are also unbeaten after two outings.
They are followed by the Lions on seven points, Griquas (6), the Hollywoodbets Sharks XV (5), Stormers XXIII (4), Pumas (3) and the Bulls XV (1 point).
Fixtures
Next weekend, Griquas and Cheetahs kick off the third round with a meeting in Kimberley, on Friday, 31 July at 19:00.
That is followed by two games on Saturday, 1 August when the Stormers XXXII host the Hollywoodbets Sharks XV at the Cape Town Stadium at 15:00, and at 17:05 when the Lions take on the Bulls XV at Ellis Park in Johannesburg.
On Sunday the Boland Kavaliers host the Pumas at the Boland Stadium in Wellington at 15:00.
