Michigan State basketball makes final cut for Top-50 recruit

In the last few years, it feels like Tom Izzo has figured out the new era of recruiting in NIL, landing big-name recruits like Jasiah Jervis and Ethan Taylor. It looks like that trend will continue, as Michigan State basketball has made the final cut for big-time 2027 prospect Jaydn Jenkins out of Archbishop Wood High School in Westminster, PA.

Jenkins, a center, is the No. 42-ranked player in the 2027 class and the No. 6-ranked center in that class by 247Sports. Needless to say, he's the No. 1-ranked player in the state of Pennsylvania. MSU will be competing with the following schools to land Jenkins' commitment:
- Ohio State
- Xavier
- Pittsburgh
- NC State
While there aren't any blue bloods listed here, it can't be assumed that MSU will just be able to easily earn Jenkins' commitment. With Ethan Taylor presumably in place at MSU for the next few years, they will need to sell Jenkins on role, development, and opportunity in East Lansing.
