Commanders CB Trey Amos, two others placed on PUP before training camp

· Yahoo Sports

The Commanders made some roster designation changes on Saturday morning, a day before the full squad reports to training camp.

Secomd-year CB Trey Amos was placed on the active/physically unable to perform list, suggesting the fractured fibula that ended his rookie season early will prevent him from starting camp on time. That’s not massive cause for concern, as Amos has claimed that he’s on the right track towards recovery.

Defensive linemen Deatrich Wise Jr. and Dorance Armstrong were also placed on active/PUP. Armstrong has been rehabbing a knee injury while Wise is recovering from a torn quadriceps.

Undrafted rookie cornerback Fred Davis II was placed on the active/non-football illness list.

As a note, being placed on the “active” versions of these lists means the players still count against the Commanders’ 90-man roster limit. While they will use a roster exemption on T.J. Maguranyanga as part of the International Player Pathway program, the Commanders remain one player over the limit at this time.
