One of Alabama's top uncommitted recruits will announce his decision on Saturday, and the Auburn Tigers are firmly in the mix.

Four-star defensive lineman Karlos May will announce his commitment on Saturday, July 18, at 2:30 p.m. CT on Rivals' official YouTube channel, with Ohio State, Georgia, and Auburn being viewed as May's top three schools. Where does Auburn fit into the race heading into commitment day?

It appears early on that Auburn will lose out on May. The Ramsay High School product is trending heavily to Ohio State ahead of his announcement, with the Buckeyes holding a 91.4% forecast from Rivals, with three predictions all favoring Ohio State. However, the door remains open for the Tigers, according to 247Sports, which has posted zero crystal ball predictions as of Saturday morning.

If Auburn does not initially win May's pledge, do not count them out. May is seen as a priority for Auburn's 2027 signing class, and it is expected that Alex Golesh and his staff will continue to battle Ohio State and Georgia until signing day in December for May's signature. The Tigers' coaching staff has found success in recruiting its home state by landing four of the state's top 11 recruits from the 2027 class, and Golesh would love nothing more than to add a fifth.

Heading into Saturday, Auburn holds the No. 12 recruiting class for the 2027 cycle according to Rivals, and the No. 11 class according to 247Sports.
