The Arizona Cardinals report to training camp on July 22 and begin the process of preparing for the regular season, forming the roster and determining starting jobs and roles on the team.

Walter Nolen III background, 2025 season
Nolen tantalized the fan base with big-play ability in 2025, but injuries resulted in him playing only six games after being the 16th overall choice in the draft. The opening of the season was compromised because of a calf injury suffered before the start of training camp and then after getting on the field ended prematurely because of a knee injury. There is hope that he will be able to begin practicing at the start of camp or early in the preseason work.
The 6-foot-4, 300-pound Nolen played only 169 defensive snaps (43 percent), but made them count with two sacks, five tackles for loss, 11 tackles (eight solo), five quarterback hits, two passes defensed and a fumble recovery for a touchdown.
Walter Nolen III contract details, cap hit
Nolen’s four-year rookie contract that includes a fifth-year option, is worth $19.37 million guaranteed with a $10.73 million signing bonus. His base salary for 2025 is $1.005 million and there is also a guaranteed training-camp roster bonus of $715,343. Nolen’s salary-cap charge this year is $4.4 million.
Questions he faces, roster outlook
Nolen’s presence and production is an important piece for the improvement of the defensive line. Obviously, it is imperative that he stays healthy and is able to be a consistent producer for the entire season.
