LeBron James’ live podcast drawing speculation about his decision
· Yahoo Sports
There has been no shortage of speculation about where LeBron James will choose to play out the remainder of his career. That’s old and tired ground. When and where the future Hall of Famer will reveal his choice, however, is gaining interest.

The manner in which James has announced the destination for his talents has been different throughout the decades. Everyone remembers The Decision, in which he revealed a shocking trek to South Beach to Jim Gray amid a crowded Greenwich Boys & Girls Club. His triumphant return back home to Cleveland came via a Sports Illustrated article. In 2018, he simply posted his intention to go to the Los Angeles Lakers on Instagram.
As the media ecosystem has changed, it’s anyone’s guess as to the vehicle for James’ white smoke announcing a new franchise.
How will LeBron James announce his next team?
James has become his own business and could choose several different platforms, including his “Mind the Game” podcast. Interestingly enough, he’ll be taping a live episode with Tyrese Haliburton today as part of the Fanatics Fest in New York City. That’s as good a reason as any to wonder if the blessed announcement could just be hours away.
Now, I am very skeptical James will choose this avenue for the last big decree. Live podcasts are for polite laughter at middling jokes and some fool shouting things out that don’t add anything to the product. They are for ad reads about protein shakes and home security systems. Then again, Kevin Durant found out he was being traded to the Houston Rockets during this event last year.
So don’t hold your breath but also don’t be surprised. One thing for sure: it’s bound to be some banger content if this is how James chooses to go about things. Just think of the engagement! Plus, we’ll get to find out if Steve Kerr was leaking major news about the Golden State Warriors or just trolling someone with a cell phone. Exciting day on tap.
