Back on Aug. 8, 2024, York Regional Police say officers responded to a hospital around 6 a.m. after a youth showed up there suffering from a stab wound.

The victim, identified only as a 16-year-old Montreal boy, died a short time later.

Investigators later revealed that the teen had been dumped at the hospital by two men and it was believed all three had been involved in a vehicle theft on Kersey Cr. – near Yonge St. and Major Mackenzie Dr. W. — around 4:45 that morning.

While it was unknown where the stabbing occurred, the stolen vehicle was recovered later that morning in a parking lot near Weston Rd. and Sheppard Ave. W. in North York.

Three men were subsequently identified as suspects in the auto theft.

Police say Isaiah Mentor Lorguste, 19, of Montreal, Que., and Lensly Francois, 31, of Saint-Hubert, Que., were arrested and charged in the auto theft while William Gallant, 26, of Quebec City, Que., is still wanted.

But it was another alleged accomplice in the auto theft ring, a woman, who investigators identified as a suspect in the boy’s killing.

Katherine Bergeron-Pinzarrone, of Mississauga, was sought on a Canada-Wide warrant for the homicide. She was also the only woman listed when the BOLO (Be On the Look Out) Program released its Top 25 Most Wanted list of fugitives sought for crimes in Canada last fall.

“Members of the York Regional Police Homicide Unit have been actively working the investigation and partnered with the BOLO Program and the Calgary Police Service in effort to locate the suspect,” police said in a statement released Tuesday, explaining the suspect was taken into custody on July 9 in Calgary, Alta.

“This arrest marks an important step in seeking justice for the victim and his family and reflects our ongoing commitment to holding those responsible for violent crime accountable,” Deputy Chief Ryan Hogan said in Tuesday’s statement.
